CCDC127 plays a critical role in the formation and maintenance of LDs, which are essential organelles for storing neutral lipids and are involved in lipid metabolism and energy homeostasis. Knockdown and overexpression studies in HeLa cells have shown that CCDC127 positively regulates LD abundance, suggesting its importance in cellular lipid management.
