Product Specific Information

PEP-260 is a 15 amino acid synthetic peptide whose sequence is derived from the RFP tag protein. The sequence of this peptide is (amino to carboxy terminus): V (22)-N-G-H-E-F-E-I-E-G-E-G-E-G-R (36)

This peptide may be used for neutralization and control experiments with the polyclonal antibody that reacts with this product, RFP Epitope Tag, catalog # PA1-986. Using a solution of peptide of equal volume and concentration to the corresponding antibody will yield a large molar excess of peptide (~70-fold) for competitive inhibition of antibody-protein binding reactions.

Reconstitute with 0.1 mL of distilled water.

Target Information

Red Fluorescent Protein (RFP) is isolated from sea anemone (Discosoma sp, Uniprot ID: Q9U6Y8), and commonly used as a molecular tag to study protein localization, reporter gene expression, and protein-protein interactions. Although it exists as a homotetramer, monomeric variants have been constructed for use in various applications.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
