Product Specific Information

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (87%), Rat (87%).

This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-84209. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Target Information

MAPK12 (p38 gamma) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in many different cellular processes. It is activated during hypoxia and gamma-irradiation-induced G(2) arrest. Activation of members of the mitogen-activated protein kinase family is a major mechanism for transduction of extracellular signals. Stress-activated protein kinases are one subclass of MAP kinases. MAPK12 functions as a signal transducer during differentiation of myoblasts to myotubes.
