Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (85%), Rat (85%).

This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-54187. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a mitochondrial proline dehydrogenase that catalyzes the first step in proline degradation. Defects in this gene are a cause of hyperprolinemia type 1 and possibly susceptibility to schizophrenia 4 (SCZD4). The gene is located on chromosome 22q11.21, a region which has also been associated with the contiguous gene deletion syndromes DiGeorge syndrome and CATCH22 syndrome.
