Product Specific Information

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (79%), Rat (79%).

This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-53149. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Target Information

RNF174 (MARCH4) is a multi-pass membrane protein mainly found in the membrane of Golgi apparatus. It is a complex enzyme with a RING-CH-type zinc finger. It acts as a ubiquitin-protein ligase mainly involved in third step of ubiquitin conjugation. The RINGv-type zinc finger domain is required for E3 ligase activity in which the E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase mediates ubiquitination of MHC-I and CD4, and promote their subsequent endocytosis and sorting to lysosomes via multivesicular bodies. It is mainly expressed in brain and placenta.
