Product Specific Information

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (95%), Rat (95%).

This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-67044. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Target Information

Jumonji domain-containing protein 2C (JMJD2C)/ Lysine-specific demethylase 4C (KDM4C) is a histone demethylase that specifically demethylates 'Lys-9' and 'Lys-36' residues of histone H3; thereby, playing a central role in histone code. KDM4C does not demethylate histone H3 'Lys-4', H3 'Lys-27', or H4 'Lys-20'. It demethylates trimethylated H3 "Lys-9' and H3 "Lys-36' residues. There is no activity on mono- or dimethylated residues. Demethylation of Lys residues generates formaldehyde and succinate.
