Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (68%), Rat (68%).

This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-61933. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Target Information

Specifically required during spermatogenesis to promote expression of piRNA precursors. The piRNA metabolic process mediates the repression of transposable elements during meiosis by forming complexes composed of piRNAs and Piwi proteins and governs the methylation and subsequent repression of transposons, which is essential for the germline integrity. Acts by facilitating transcription elongation at piRNA loci during pachytene.
