MAD4 Antibody (PA5-119837) in WB

Western blot analysis of MAD4 on different lysates. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% BSA in PBS for 1 hour at room temperature. MAD4 Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-119837) at 1:1,000 was used in 5% BSA at room temperature for 2 hours. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody at 1:200,000 dilution was used for 1 hour at room temperature. Positive control: Lane 1: Mouse brain tissue lysate. Lane 2: Mouse lung tissue lysate. {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

Product Specific Information

Positive Control: Mouse brain tissue lysate, mouse lung tissue lysate.

Subcellular Location: Nucleus.

Target Information

This gene is a member of the MAD gene family. The MAD genes encode basic helix-loop-helix-leucine zipper proteins that heterodimerize with MAX protein, forming a transcriptional repression complex. The MAD proteins compete for MAX binding with MYC, which heterodimerizes with MAX forming a transcriptional activation complex. Studies in rodents suggest that the MAD genes are tumor suppressors and contribute to the regulation of cell growth in differentiating tissues.
