Immunocytochemistry analysis of CD49e (Integrin alpha 5) in C2C12 cells. Nuclei were stained blue with DAPI; CD49e (Integrin alpha 5) recombinant monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-54068) with a dilution of 1:1,000 was stained magenta with Alexa Fluor 647. Images were taken using Leica stellaris 5. Protein abundance based on laser Intensity and smart gain: High. Scale bar: 20 μm.

ITGA5 Antibody — Antibody specificity was demonstrated by siRNA mediated knockdown of target protein. HeLa cells were transfected with Integrin alpha 5 shRNA and decrease in signal intensity was observed in Western Blotting using Anti-ITGA5 Recombinant Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (23GB1050) (Product # MA5-54068) at a dilution of 1:5,000. Secondary antibody used was a goat anti-rabbit (HRP) at a dilution of 1:20,000. {KD}

Target Information

The product of this gene belongs to the integrin alpha chain family. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain. This gene encodes the integrin alpha 5 chain. Alpha chain 5 undergoes post-translational cleavage in the extracellular domain to yield disulfide-linked light and heavy chains that join with beta 1 to form a fibronectin receptor. In addition to adhesion, integrins are known to participate in cell-surface mediated signalling.
