Target Information

CTX-II is a biomarker for type II collagen degradation, which is mainly found in cartilage. It is a small peptide fragment that is released into the synovial fluid and blood when there is cartilage degradation. CTX-II has been extensively studied as a diagnostic and prognostic marker for osteoarthritis, and it has also been shown to be a useful tool for monitoring the efficacy of treatments targeting cartilage degradation. The structure of CTX-II is a small peptide consisting of 17 amino acids. It is derived from the C-terminal telopeptide of type II collagen. CTX-II functions as a biomarker for cartilage degradation and can be used to monitor the progression of osteoarthritis and the effectiveness of treatments.
