eIF4B Antibody (A301-767A) in WB

Detection of human eIF4B by western blot and immunoprecipitation. Samples: Whole cell lysate (5, 15 and 50 µg for WB; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibody: Affinity purified rabbit anti-eIF4B antibody (Product # A301-767A) used for WB at 0.04 µg/mL (A) and 1 µg/mL (B) and used for IP at 3 µg/mg lysate. eIF4B was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-eIF4B antibody A301-766A, which recognizes an upstream epitope. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 10 seconds (A) and 3 seconds (B).

Target Information

The eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4B (eIF4B) plays a critical role in recruiting the 40S ribosomal subunit to the mRNA. It functions in close association with eIF4F and eIF4A. It binds near the 5'-terminal cap of mRNA in the presence of eIF4F and ATP. It promotes the ATPase activity and the ATP-dependent RNA unwinding activity of both eIF4A and eIF4F.
