Transferrin Receptor Antibody (PA5-95212) in ICC/IF

Immunocytochemistry analysis of TFRC using anti-TFRC antibody (Product # PA5-95212). TFRC was detected in a section of A431 cells. Enzyme antigen retrieval was performed using IHC enzyme antigen retrieval reagent for 15 mins. The cells were blocked with 10% goat serum and then incubated with 2μg/mL rabbit anti-TFRC antibody (Product # PA5-95212) overnight at 4°C. Cy3 Conjugated Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG was used... Product Specific Information

Human TFRC shares 72% and 70% amino acid (aa) sequences identity with mouse and rat TFRC, respectively.

Reconstitute with 0.2 mL of distilled water to yield a concentration of 500 µg/mL.

Positive Control - WB: human Hela whole cell, human K562 whole cell, human HT1080 whole cell, rat thymus tissue, rat RAW2647 whole cell, mouse SP2/0 whole cell. IHC: human placenta tissue IHC-F: human placenta tissue. ICC/IF: A431 cell. Flow: SiHa cell, U87 cell.|Store at -20°C for one year from date of receipt. After reconstitution, at 4°C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20°C for six months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Target Information

Cellular uptake of iron occurs via receptor-mediated endocytosis of ligand-occupied transferrin receptor into specialized endosomes. Endosomal acidification leads to iron release. The apotransferrin-receptor complex is then recycled to the cell surface with a return to neutral pH and the concomitant loss of affinity of apotransferrin for its receptor. Transferrin receptor is necessary for development of erythrocytes and the nervous system. Serum transferrin receptor (sTfR) is used as a means of detecting erythropoietin (EPO) misuse by athletes and as a diagnostic test for anemias resulting from a number of conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, pregnancy, irritable bowel syndrome and in HIV patients.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
