Sortilin Antibody (MA5-53702) in WB

Western Blot analysis of Sortilin. Total cell lysates (30 μg) from various cell lines were loaded and separated by SDS-PAGE. The blot was incubated with Sortilin recombinant monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-53702) with a dilution of 1:5,000, followed by HRP-conjugated goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody with a dilution of 1:20,000. Image was developed using FeQTM ECL Substrate Kit. {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

Target Information

Sortilin functions as a sorting receptor in the Golgi compartment and as a clearance receptor on the cell surface. Sortilin is required for protein transport from the Golgi apparatus to the lysosomes by a pathway that is independent of the mannose-6-phosphate receptor (M6PR). It is also required for protein transport from the Golgi apparatus to the endosomes. Sortilin promotes neuronal apoptosis by mediating endocytosis of the proapoptotic precursor forms of BDNF (proBDNF) and NGFB (proNGFB). Also, Sortilin acts as a receptor for neurotensin.
