Pleiotrophin Antibody (PA5-118876) in WB

Western blot of Pleiotrophin (PTN) was performed by loading 25 µg of serum free concentrated culture media from U-87MG WT (lane 1) and PTN KO (lane 2) cells onto a NuPAGE™ 10%, Bis-Tris, 1.0 mm, Midi Protein Gel (Product # WG1201BOX). Proteins on the blot were visualized with Ponceau staining (below immunoblot). Proteins were transferred to nitrocellulose membrane and blocked in 5% milk for 1 hr. PTN was detected at approximately 19 kDa using Pleiotrophin Polyclonal Antibody (Product # PA5-118876) at a dilution of 1:500 in 5% BSA in TBST f... Product Specific Information

Antibody detects endogenous levels of total PTN.

Target Information

Pleiotrophin (PTN) is an 18 kDa secreted heparin and chondroitin-binding protein that is a regulatory cytokine critical to the early development of blood vessels and neurons. High PTN serum levels are associated with a variety of solid tumors. It was shown that patients with multiple myeloma (MM) also have elevated serum levels of this protein. The expression of this protein is very limited in normal adult tissues.
