Phospho-MARCKS (Ser152, Ser156) Antibody (PA1-4629) in WB

Western blot of MARCKS in rat brain lysate showing specific immunolabeling of a band at ~87 kDa corresponding to Phospho-MARCKS (Ser152, Ser156) polyclonal antibody (Product # PA1-4629) in the first lane (-). Phosphospecificity is shown in the second lane (+) where immunolabeling is completely eliminated by blot treatment with lambda phosphatase (1,200 units for 30 min). {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. Product Specific Information

This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, chicken, human, mouse, Xenopus and zebrafish based on 100% sequence homology.

This antibody is specific for the ~87 kDa MARCKS protein phosphorylated at Ser152 and Ser156 in Western blots of rat brain homogenates. Immunolabeling is blocked by the phosphopeptide used as the antigen but not by the corresponding dephosphopeptide.

Target Information

MARCKS is a substrate for protein kinase C. It is localized to the plasma membrane and is an actin filament crosslinking protein. Phosphorylation by protein kinase C or binding to calcium-calmodulin inhibits its association with actin and with the plasma membrane, leading to its presence in the cytoplasm. The protein is thought to be involved in cell motility, phagocytosis, membrane trafficking and mitogenesis.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
