CTLA-4 (CD152) Chimeric Antibody (MA5-48106) in ELISA

ELISA analysis of CTLA-4 (CD152) chimeric monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-48106) (red line) and isotype control (blue line) was performed by coating plate with CTLA-4 (CD152)-Fc fusion protein at a concentration of 5 µg/mL. A 3-fold serial dilution from 10,000 to 0.17 ng/mL of the antibody was done. For signal detection, a 1:4,000 dilution of HRP-labelled anti-rabbit IgG1 antibody was used. {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

Product Specific Information

Specificity: This antibody is specific for murine CTLA-4, an inhibitory receptor that acts as the primary negative regulator of T-cell responses. CTLA-4 is expressed predominantly by activated T cells, with significantly higher levels of expression on CD8+ T cells than CD4+ T cells.

Target Information

CTLA4 (Cytotoxic T-Lymphocyte Antigen 4) is a CD28-family receptor expressed on mainly CD4+ T cells. It binds the same ligands as CD28 (CD80 and CD86 on B cells and dendritic cells), but with higher affinity than CD28. However, in contrast to CD28 which enhances cell function when bound at the same time as the T cell receptor, CTLA4 inhbits the T cell and prevents it from functioning. Intracellular CTLA4 is also found in regulatory T cells and may be important to their function.
