BTLA Chimeric Antibody (MA5-48131) in ELISA

ELISA analysis of BTLA chimeric monoclonal antibody (Product # MA5-48131) (red line) and isotype control (blue line) was performed by coating plate with BTLA (CD272)-Fc fusion protein at a concentration of 5 µg/mL. A 3-fold serial dilution from 10,000 to 0.17 ng/mL of the antibody was done. For signal detection, a 1:4,000 dilution of anti-rabbit IgG1 antibody was used. The second increase in absorbance at 3333 ng/mL is suggestive of a possible secondary binding epitope. {{ $ctrl.currentElement.advancedVerification.fullName }} validation info. View more

Product Specific Information

Specificity: This antibody is specific for B and T lymphocyte attenuator (BTLA), which functions as a negative regulator of T cell activation and proliferation, and attenuates B cell proliferation upon associating with its known ligand, herpes virus entry mediator (HVEM).

Target Information

BTLA or B and T-lymphocyte attenuator is a member of the co-inhibitory receptors of the CD28 superfamily. BTLA is a lymphocyte inhibitory receptor which inhibits lymphocytes during immunes responses. BTLA is constitutively expressed on most CD4+ and CD8+ T cells and its expression progressively decreases upon T cell activation. It remains expressed on Th1 cells, but not Th2 cells. BTLA is a unique co-receptor that interacts with the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member herpesvirus entry mediator (HVEM). This interation is an important pathway regulating lymphocyte activation and/or homeostasis in the immune response.
